Property Tax Details for New Home Buyers |
Texas law requires that new home buyers must be notified if their new home is located in a special taxing district, such as a municipal utility district. The form used for this notification is the Notice to Purchaser. This form informs prospective property owners of the current property tax rate levied by the District, any bonded indebtedness of the District, any remaining bonding authority, and if the District have any standby fees which may apply to the property. This Notice is updated when the tax rate is changed.
The Notice to Purchaser is typically presented and signed at the closing of the property purchase.
